A report, published Friday by Wired, says that Los Angeles-based video streaming site Hulu has cut its use of web analytics service Kissmetrics -- a startup founded by former Orange County entrepreneur Neil Patel -- after U.C. Berkeley security researchers detected the use of undetectable cookie code by Kissmetrics. The report from Wired said that those researchers found that Kissmetrics tracking service cannot be evaded, even when users block their cookies, turn off storage in Flash, or use "incognito mode" in a browser. Google Inc. is in preliminary talks to buy online video pioneer Hulu, people familiar with the situation said. U.S. cable TV operators lost 741,000 basic video customers in the third quarter, research firm SNL Kagan reported Wednesday. That’s the single largest quarterly drop for cable since SNL Kagan began compiling data for the segment in 1980. Cable’s share of the multichannel pay television market continues to slide, dipping to 60.3% from 62.9% in Q3 2009. Gains in telecom and satellite TV services were not enough to offset the loss of cable subscribers, so the overall multichannel pay-TV market lost 119,000 customers last quarter.

Decided to catch up on a few shows I've missed recently, by watching them on Hulu. (a great fallback for us PVR challenged types) Only to find that the ads I watched during the shows, were not just sprinkled with political ads, they were sprinkled with political ads that were relevant to my personal voting district! Yes, I am a registered user of Hulu, so I know I provided them with my data to an extent, and even though it was an attack ad against the "opposite" party to my affiliations...but GEEEEEEEz...It sure felt like...they won't even leave me alone...

Just watched the sneak preview of AMC's upcoming series m hosted by Hulu. It's called 'Rubicon', and will premier on AMC on August 9th I believe. The Sneak Preview, is just shy of an hour long, and IMO, if it is indicative of the rest of the series, then AMC's got a winner on it's hands. Huilu has added the 1940's(?) Brit 'Sherlock Holmes' TV series to their line up, with episodes 1 to 39. Back when I only had terrestrial TV, I used to enjoy watching the nightly episode aired on my local PBS channel before going to sleep.

If you haven't been to Hulu in the last week oe so, they've added Season 5 to their 'Stargate SG-'1 offerings! Just in time for ne. I just finished off Season 4 about a week ago. Hulu has been berry berry good to me this summer. :o) BTW: can anyone tell me where chronologically in the series, the two movies fit in to the overarching plotline?
